What great timing!! I just started a Henry James last night and I had to go back many times to see what he was saying! We are a little more acquainted now and getting along much better. What an insight Lanier!

Well, I must say, it's not only the savage tribes that eat the books...Cora seems to enjoy them very much herself. Ahhh, how tempted I am to often be a psuedo-scholar and merely surface read rather than wrestle with deeper thoughts. It may be the easy route, but it leaves one unchanged. Of course, we must also choose wisely which books will be worth the effort; my shelves are lined and my nightstand is piled with potentials, but only a few may make the cut--God's Word most of all!
