This a topic worth pondering and pursuing. I desire to live a life more and more from the Center - and to learn to pray without ceasing as Brother Lawrence did. This is a helpful article. Thank you Lanier!

Oh how wonderful to be able to CONCENTRATE on that marvelous passage (and not be bouncing sweet Pace). I find myself wanting to paint parts of that excerpt on the walls of my house...especially in the kitchen! If only we could truly remember that God is in control of the tiniest decisions of our day. Today, Labor Day, when both Jeremiah and I have been "off", I find that I needed that reminder even more so than I do on normal days. Somehow we feel that free time should be jam-packed with fixing all the things that have been left un-fixed and enjoying all the little things (like reading to each other after a laid-back breakfast, or taking a bike ride, or cooking dinner for friends) that we never get to enjoy. While none of these things are bad in themselves our day that we are striving so hard to force into being blissfully joyful really just becomes tiring. Oh if I had only read this a little earlier today!

I also want to tell you that I was honored to find myself counted as a new friend. I think you are so...intriguing...and I really enjoyed having some time to pick your brain, even though it resulted in poor Lauren having her canning turn into a day-long process. (I did can my strawberried as well and they turned out great, if I do say so myself.) So, thank you again for the lessons in canning, the new views on life, and for counting me as one of your many friends.

Thank you for this timely post. Some things we KNOW but cannot express them and think maybe it is just our one life that feels these things. I hope I can remember this..I think I will need to reread this often..love you
