Dear Lanier,
what a lovely post!
By the way, when we got married, we chose Spode “The Blue room” as our tea porcelain and really, really love it! It was transported over the water via airplane in several loads and those were the scariest flights I’ve ever had to endure ;-).
Love, Kathrin

Do you remember the precious gentleman from "84 Charing Cross Road"... "How would we live without our cups of tea?" I now use my smaller pots but next time we take tea together the old blue teapot is coming out of the cupboard!! Love you,,,

Dearest Lanier ~ your latest post must have inspired your mom to pull out the
powder blue Hall teapot and I was the blessed recipient of a leisurely cup of
tea and sweet fellowship! What a wonderful afternoon we had by the fire,
sipping our tea, nibbling dates and almonds, and catching up on long-overdue
conversations. We both made a pact that we would forego the 'sweets' but I must admit I couldn't resist some sugar and cream in my Jane Austen tea.
I was having such a good time, I completely forgot to watch the clock and our
'tea' almost became dinner!
Thank you for the lovely post - you are blessed to have such a special 'mama'...

Lanier, I loved your post (again!). My two children and I drink tea (sometimes they have hot chocolate) during our reading time every day in school and share what we're reading. It's one of my favorite times of our day.

Here's a quote from "The Art of Taking Tea" by the editors of "Victoria" magazine.
"The mere chink of cups and saucers turns the mind to happy repose."
George Gissie

I inherited a blue Hall teapot from my grandmother and hesitate to use it for fear of adding to the chip in the spout, but I think I'll break it out today!
