Sweet Lanier,
I was with your mother yesterday, and she told me about the “love story” of Laura Alice and Claude being on your website. What a truly beautiful testimony of patience to wait for the “man of God’s choosing” . They were (are) a match made in heaven.
I especially loved the photo of them walking on the sidewalk in DOWNTOWN Atlanta!
How very blessed I am to have known them…treasures, both of them.
You have a wonderful legacy…

Lanier, what a lovely story! It makes me want to sit my grandparents down again and get their story down on paper with all the details. They met *quite* differently than your grandparents. My Pepere crashed the wedding of my Memere’s sister and thinking that Memere was an awfully pretty girl, asked her to dance with him. They continued to see each other and are together yet still.

Lanier – this was wonderful and brought tears to my eyes….
Having just celebrated our 22nd anniversary, I hopefully anticipate our 60th
someday! I read pieces of this to Frank and he, being ever the photographer,
recommended that you ‘photograph’ each love letter for ‘the record..just in case’.

Lanier, Today when I went to see Mama I told her we had been talking about her meeting Daddy. I said ” You remember it was August 18, and she smiled that little sideways smile and looked at me intently before closing her eyes again and going wherever her mind takes her. Thank you for this lovely remembrance of Mama and Daddy.
